By ensuring some important items such as correct geophone rotation, polarization filtering for ground roll, ACP gathering and later CCP gathering and event registration, we ensure accurate and reliable PS-wave processing. We remove the effects of shear wave splitting in the zone of interest by solving for multi-layer differential anisotropy. After the anisotropy has been removed, the energy found on the transverse component due to shear wave splitting is added to the radial component. This not only results in improvement in stack quality, but also in determining orientations and magnitudes of anisotropy for each of the analyzed layers.
